As a playwright, I strive to bring forward stories of imperfect people.
I want to create characters that are just as surprising as they are recognizable. My favorite thing to hear from an audience member is “I know someone just like that.”
I want the stories I put on stage to reflect the life I gather them from. I want to portray people who aren’t perfect at articulating what’s in their heart, people who will get it wrong the first time, people who reckon with the consequences of their actions.
As humans on this earth, our lives are made up of choices. We choose where to look, we choose what to see, we choose how we act in response to the world around us. I want to elevate my audience’s awareness of their choices by facing them with characters who don’t always make the right one.
On her first night home from college after graduating, Aileen discovers her little sister Marie has a troublesome secret.
Production, April 2025
Six college girls, two months from graduating, spend their spring break at a tiny house in the foothills of Mt. Rainier. Gathered for a bachelorette party for their token straight friend, they drink, gossip, speculate about the future, and debate the veracity of the rumors that Mt. Rainier is about to erupt. When Audrey and Molly, the typical happy lesbian couple and the glue that holds this friend group together, start having trouble in paradise, the group starts to worry that Mt. Rainier might not be the only thing about to erupt.
